Its purpose is to provide a division between properties, with the added peculiarity that it has, in turn, to bridge an expansion joint. To create this division, a simple brick wall is erected and rendered, with a 15mm layer of plaster, an insulation sheet and a 20mm block of expanded polystyrene, the latter matching up with the joint, so that it is this area which absorbs any possible expansion. On the visible face of the expanded polystyrene, another simple brick wall is erected and lined on each outer side with a dual layer of plasterboard, this lining including a 50mm layer of fibreglass in its interior structure.
